The Big One Hundred is proud to be part of The National Year of Reading
The Big One Hundred is proud to be part of The National Year of Reading, celebrating the timeless stories of A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh while championing reading and imagination as powerful tools to inspire the next generation to care for the natural world.
Drawing on the legacy of Ashdown Forest, the real-life inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood, we invite audiences to reimagine a new story for the forest’s future. Through storytelling, we aim to encourage stewardship of green spaces and a deeper connection to the environment.
Across our programme, we will create space for reading, reflection and discovery, inviting visitors to look more closely at the world around them and rediscover the roots of these beloved stories. By sparking curiosity, imagination and learning, we hope to inspire new narratives that connect people more deeply with nature and empower the next generation to care for and protect it.
