Volunteer at The Big One Hundred
This summer, The Big One Hundred celebrates 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh and we’d love you to be part of it!
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this special event to life. With a wide range of roles available, there are opportunities to suit all interests and experience levels, whether you enjoy working with people, supporting events behind the scenes, or trying something new.
We’re happy to be flexible around your availability, so you don’t need to commit to full days. You’re also welcome to sign up for multiple roles if you’d like to mix things up!

Volunteer Workshop Facilitators
We’re looking for Volunteer Workshop Facilitators to help bring the magical world of The Big One Hundred to life through playful, nature-inspired craft activities.
No professional experience is needed! This role is all about creating joyful moments, sparking imaginations, and helping visitors of all ages discover, make, and play together.
Interested in trying your hand at woodwork? Got a passion for sewing or making? This hands-on role is perfect for anyone who enjoys getting stuck in and supporting others to be creative.
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcoming and guiding visitors through activities
- Supporting artists and facilitators in delivering their bespoke workshops
- Helping participants understand each activity
- Replenishing materials and keeping spaces running smoothly
- Gathering feedback

Volunteer Car Parking Stewards
We’re looking for Volunteer Car Park Stewards to help welcome visitors arriving at The Big One Hundred event in Ashdown Forest and help everything run like clockwork!
This role is all about creating a smooth, friendly arrival experience, guiding cars into the car park, keeping traffic flowing, and greeting guests with a warm welcome as they begin their day.
It’s a relaxed, outdoor role with plenty of fresh air, where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the event runs seamlessly from the very start.
What you’ll be doing:
- Guiding vehicles safely into designated parking areas
- Supporting traffic flow to keep everything running smoothly
- Welcoming visitors and setting a positive first impression
- Supporting audience arrival and departure across three daily ticketed sessions
- Be part of a team to ensure safe and efficient movement on site

Volunteer Park and Ride Stewards
We’re looking for two volunteers to support our Park and Ride service for The Big One Hundred.
Based off-site at the Park and Ride station, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces our visitors meet, helping them get their day off to a smooth and welcoming start.
This is a people-focused role, perfect for anyone who enjoys engaging with others and keeping things organised in a relaxed, outdoor setting.
What you’ll be doing:
- Checking tickets as visitors arrive at the Park and Ride
- Assisting passengers as they board transport safely and smoothly
- Providing basic information and directions where needed
- Be part of a team to keep everything running efficiently

Volunteer Event Stewards
Want to be at the heart of the action? As the backbone of the event, our friendly Volunteer Event Stewards will be out and about across the site, helping visitors find their way, answering questions, and making sure everyone feels welcome and included throughout the day. It’s a relaxed, people-focused role where you’ll be immersed in the atmosphere, with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the event as it unfolds.
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcoming visitors and providing a friendly, helpful presence
- Giving directions and sharing key information about the site and activities
- Keeping an eye on visitor flow and assisting where needed
- Helping create a positive and inclusive experience for all
This role involves plenty of standing and being on your feet, but we’ll make sure you’re well looked after with scheduled breaks, access to a chair when needed, and a well-earned cuppa in our green room.

Volunteer Guided Walks Leaders
Love getting out in nature? We’re looking for friendly, confident Volunteer Walk Leaders to guide visitors through the heart of Ashdown Forest as part of The Big One Hundred.
You’ll help families slow down, notice the landscape in new ways, and enjoy gentle, story-led walks through the woodland. This is a calm, people-focused role perfect for anyone who enjoys being outside, chatting with others, and inspiring a sense of wonder about nature.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading small groups on relaxed, guided walks through the forest
- Sharing stories and encouraging visitors to engage with their surroundings
- Helping visitors feel confident and comfortable throughout the walk
- Supporting a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants
